2016
Finalists for the Women in Industry Awards 2016 have been announced
This year there is a familiar face in the finals for the Woman in Industry Awards! Congratulations to our very own Evie Lawn from Greyhound Resources for making the finals for this fantastic award that recognises the achievements of women working within the road transport, mining, engineering and manufacturing industries.
This award also raises the profile of women within industry, as well as promote and encourage excellence. Good luck Evie!
Greyhound attends Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE), Gold Coast
This year the sensational Gold Coast played host to the ATE, Australia’s largest annual travel and tourism business-to-business event. Much, much more than the average trade show the weeks’ events included a surprise guest appearance by Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth, sunrise yoga and even some beachside boxing. Not only did Tourism Australia do a fantastic job at showcasing our beautiful backyard and envious lifestyle to over 600 key buyers from more than 30 different countries, the event gave Greyhound the opportunity to promote our products through a combination of scheduled business appointments and networking events. We strengthened existing relationships, and identified future opportunities in new markets, so watch this space!

Congratulations to Nicholas McDonald on 20 years with Greyhound!
Here at Greyhound we love celebrating our employees! As a company policy we give all our employees the opportunity to name a coach on their 20th work anniversary. This month our General Manager of Operations, Nicholas McDonald reached this milestone. Nic took this opportunity to place his personal stamp on one of our newest Irizar i6 coaches. What was his choice you ask? Nic named his coach ’The Dogfather’ (which is aptly his nickname around Greyhound HQ). Thank you Nic for helping Greyhound become the best coach operator in Australia! Greyhound Freight Partner With Forward Thinking Courier Company Zoom2u!
Greyhound Freight today announced that it has partnered with Aussie startup courier company Zoom2u to provide customers with a next day delivery service. The partnership enables Zoom2u customers to send parcels overnight at a fraction of the cost of sending them interstate by plane. Any individual or business can register online for Zoom2u or via the iPhone and Android app and nominate pick-up and delivery details. Once the goods are picked up the customer is able to track where the courier is in real time and how long it will be until those goods arrive at their destination. When the job is complete a notification is sent via email or through the app, making sending parcels a breeze. For more information on Zoom2u or to get a quote click here.

Australian Training Awards - Watch Ashleigh's Story
After withdrawing from her tertiary studies two years into an international relations degree, Ashleigh Taylor decided to undertake a traineeship in business with Greyhound Australia. The experience has Ashleigh now looking at using her qualifications to complete a Bachelor of Business and a Diploma of Business/Training and Assessment. Rewarded for her efforts, Ashleigh was an Australian Training Awards finalist in the Australian Apprentice (Trainee) of the Year category in 2014 and is now an Australian Apprenticeships Ambassador for the Australian Government. Greyhound & Australia Zoo Team Up To Help Our Native Wildlife
On Monday the 2nd of March 2015, Greyhound and Australia Zoo celebrated the launch of Greyhound's new and improved daily coach services connecting Sunshine Coast passengers to Australia Zoo in Beerwah!
The launch marks the continuation of a solid partnership that will not only boost tourism opportunities on the Sunshine Coast, but contribute significantly to the wildlife conservation efforts of Australia Zoo. Read more.
Yalari scholars come together for a fun and informative Orientation Camp on the Gold Coast!
Greyhound was so pleased to be able to join the Yalari scholars in their 9th annual Orientation Camp on the Gold Coast last week. Sixty five Indigenous children from regional, rural and remote communites came together last week to learn about boarding school life, make new friends and equip themselves with the skills they will need for their scholarship adventure ahead.

Our very own Ashleigh Taylor has won Queensland Training Awards State Trainee of the Year! We are very proud to have such a dedicated hard worker on our team and we wish her all the best for the upcoming National Awards. Well done Ashleigh!

Ashleigh joined Greyhound Australia in 2013 as a Trainee Workshop Administrator while completing her Certificate III in Business Administration. Ashleigh is organised, forward thinking, great at solving problems and works quickly to achieve results. We are excited to nominate her for the Trainee of the Year in the Queensland Training Awards.
