ABOUT

A Palace Tag-a-Long trip is an adventure experience like no other, with a guide who knows the island like the back of his hand; showing you all the best hangs Fraser Island has to offer.

All participants have the unique opportunity to drive a 4WD (optional) with the days spent exploring freshwater lakes and visiting iconic sights. And the nights spent in cosy beachside dorm accommodation.

ITINERARY

Day one:

  • After the safety briefing in the morning, the group will depart for Fraser Island
  • A short ferry ride from the mainland will see you on the island where your guide will meet you
  • Your first stop will be Lake Birrabeen, the largest perched lake in the world! Not only will you be surprised by the beautiful colour of the lake but you’ll also get to submerge yourself in it
  • At the end of the day the group will arrive at the Beach House accommodation and will relish in a great Aussie BBQ dinner

Day two:

  • After packing up your gear in the morning, the group will begin the trip back to the mainland after visiting more beautiful sights
  • Float down Eli Creek, take Pictures at the Maheno Shipwreck, admire the Coloured Sands, take a walk at Wanggoolba Creek and learn about Fraser Island History at Central Station. This will all play pert of your second day itinerary

Note: Travellers will need to have arrived in Hervey Bay the day before departure. Daily itineraries will also vary, depending on tide and weather conditions.

A $20 insurance fee is payable on arrival to your Fraser Island 4WD Tag-A-Long Tour.

DEPARTURE INFO

  • This tour departs on a Sunday only from the Palace Hostel, located in 10 Bideford Street, Hervey Bay
    • Prior to departure a mandatory safety briefing will be held at 6.30am in the hostel foyer
  • Tours will return to the Palace Hostel at approx. 6.30pm on the last day

  • We recommend you book your tour as far in advance as possible to avoid disappointment
    • During peak times tours may fill up to two weeks in advance
  • To drive 4WD vehicles on the Fraser Island tour, you must be over 21 years of age with two years driving experience
