Nestled on a 500-acre property in Barrington Tops National Park, Twistops Retreat provides the perfect combination of both adventure and relaxation.

On location, you will experience a side to Australia that no city or beach will be able to provide. Staying in dorm share accommodation, you’ll also get involved in activities such as tube rafting down Barrington River, bike riding, fishing, bushwalking, horse riding, archery and much more.


Day one

  • After being picked up by a Greyhound Coach from Karuah, you’ll be taken to the Twistops Retreat, approximately an hour’s drive.
  • You’ll then gear up to go tube rafting down Barrington River (includes all safety equipment)
  • Then dinner will be served in their entertainment area (bar, pool table and darts etc.)

Day two

  • Breakfast will be followed by a guided bush walk through the rainforest of Barrington Tops
  • After working up your hunger, you’ll enjoy a real Australian hot lunch
  • You’ll then go on a bike ride, then head back to Twistops for a BBQ and campfire down by the Barrington River

Day three

  • Breakfast on this day will be followed by a spot of fishing
  • Following your pack-up, you’ll head back on a Greyhound Coach to Karuah


Tour departs from Karuah at 10.30am and arrives back at approx. 10.30am (Sunday and Tuesday)


  • Small day/overnight backpack
  • Three to four changes of clothes (warmer clothing when travelling in winter) and comfortable footwear

  • Tour operates Friday and Sunday and we recommend you book as far in advance as possible to avoid disappointment
